Particularly noteworthy are the figures carved from maple in a unique design. They depict Ukrainian soldiers, and the central characters are the great symbols of Ukrainian culture – the poet and patriot Taras Shevchenko as the king and the poetess Lesya Ukrainka as the queen. The item was shipped on time but it DID take a long time to arrive. The delay was at the hands of the USPS because it was during the big Xmas season, and not the fault of the Ukraine Post. My entire experience purchasing sheepskin covers from this shop was wonderful. From the very beginning Elena corresponded quickly and was extremely helpful. I told her about how my leather sofa was cold to sit on and I thought her covers would be a good solution. Elena was kind and thoughtful and gave me lots of information. I loved that I was able to watch the tracking info and the covers arrived in a timely fashion and were well packed. This was ordered as a Christmas gift for our 14-year-old son. It is beautifully made. The actual board matched the advertised photos. However, the chess pieces (color & wood) were different that of the chess board.
The owner of the shop was very helpful and answered all of my questions. Please note, if you order this in the USA it takes a while due to the US postal system & customs.
I only gave 4 stars due to the packaging of the product for shipment. It arrived with slight damage to 2 of the corners and a few chess pieces had come out. We were able to reglue the felt on the pieces and added stain to the edges of the board. IIf you purchase this product, I would just request better packaging. Overall I would still recommend this to anyone wanting a custom chess board. It is well made.
